As a child I would lay on the grass in our backyard for hours searching through the clovers growing in our lawn. I wanted to find a 4 leaf clover. I knew if I could find a 4 leaf clover that I would have all the luck I needed to see my dreams and hearts desires come true. Many times I was lucky. I found a 4 leaf clover. I would carefully pluck it away from the other 3 leaf clovers and gently carry it into the house placing it in a small teacup filled with water. There it would stay for days until finally the life went out of it. I would then begin again looking in the grass through the clovers for another lucky 4 leaf clover. Many times in our adult lives we feel like that child, that if we can just find our lucky 4 leaf clover that life will always be what we had dreamed it would be. As we travel on our journey through this life we learn that just finding the 4 leaf clover or finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is not always the answer to a happy life. Our Father In Heaven’s plan for us is to grow, experience and learn through our choices and free agency so that we may gain knowledge. If we were given eternal life and exaltation freely without any accountability of our choices then we would not value the gift. Our Heavenly Father’s Plan is perfect. We, just like the little child, must continue to search for those precious 4 leaf clovers that are rare and cherished. Through our faithful search through obedience, prayer, faith, seeking His word and experiences we will come to acquiring our Lucky Four Leaf Clovers multiplied a hundred fold.
